1) How do I purchase tickets for the Poly Rose Parade event? There are three ways to purchase tickets:
- On-line at the Poly Centennial website www.poly100.org
- By mail: Print a registration form at www.poly100.org and send it along with a check (for $70 per ticket) payable to Polytechnic School to: Poly Centennial, 1030 E. California Blvd., Pasadena, CA 91106
- By phone: Contact Laura Huffman at Poly (626) 792-2147, ext. 205
The deadline for purchasing Poly Rose Parade tickets is Wednesday, October 25, 2006.
2) Does a child need a ticket to sit in the grandstands? If a child is two years of age or younger, they may sit on an adult's lap. Otherwise they need a ticket like everyone else.
3) Do the seats have backs on them? No, they are all bench seats. You are welcome to bring your stadium seat attachments with backs.
4) What if I missed the deadline, but I would like to purchase tickets? Poly will maintain a waitlist. You will be contacted if any tickets in the Poly grandstand become available. Please call Laura Huffman at Poly (626) 792-2147, ext. 205, to be placed on the waitlist.
5) What if I purchased tickets, but my plans changed and I can no longer come to the event? Cancellations with a refund are dependent upon resale of your tickets. Please contact Laura Huffman at Poly (626) 792-2147, ext. 205.
6) How and when will I receive my tickets? All tickets will be distributed at the event between 6:30 - 7:30 AM at Poly on January 1st. Registration tables will be set up in the Boys Gym. (You will receive confirmation in the mail by early December with the number of tickets you purchased.)
7) What if I arrive at Poly after 8:00 AM on January 1st? All unclaimed tickets will be left near the entrance to the North Campus Administration Building for late-comers to pick up after 8:00 AM on January 1st.
8) How long will it take to walk from Poly to the grandstand seats? The distance between Poly's Wilson Parking Lot and the Grandstand Seats on Colorado Boulevard is 5 blocks and 0.7 mile. Allow 20-30 minutes to walk this distance.
9) What if it rains on January 1st? The Rose Parade and its events will go on rain or shine. Umbrellas are not allowed in the grandstands. In the event of rain, the breakfast at Poly will be moved to the covered hallways just north of the field. Typically, the average high in Pasadena in January is 68° and the average low is 50°.
10) Can I bring a stroller or wagon for the walk up to the grandstands? Yes, you may bring strollers or wagons for the walk up to Colorado. Sharp Seating allows you to park them beneath our grandstand during the parade. However, for the security of your property, Sharp Seating recommends locking your stroller or wagon to one of the grandstand posts during the parade.
11) What if a member of our party is unable to walk up to the grandstand seats? Can I drop someone off in front of the grandstands? No. The closest you can get to the parade route for drop off or pick up is at least four to five blocks from the grandstands. Heavy traffic makes this extremely difficult. However, handicapped parking near the grandstands may be available if you contact Sharp Seating directly at (626) 795-4171.
12) Will the seats in the Poly Grandstand be reserved? Yes, there will be assigned seating. All seats are reserved and numbered. Sharp Seating provides ushers at each grandstand to guide you to your assigned seat. If you or someone in your party has special seating needs, please indicate when you order your tickets.
13) Can I request seating with another Poly party? If you would like to be seated in the grandstands with another Poly party attending the event, it would be helpful if the orders were received at the same time and indicate your request on the order form. Poly will do its best to honor requests to be seated together. All members of the Poly Rose Parade Event will be seated in the same grandstand.
14) Will restrooms be available near the grandstands? The restrooms at Poly will be open during the breakfast, and portable restrooms are provided behind each grandstand.
15) Why do the Poly Rose Parade tickets cost $70 when you can purchase parade tickets from Sharp Seating for less? Sharp Seating charges $50 per ticket for a seat in our grandstand. Sharp Seating does not offer group discounts. The remaining $20 per ticket covers the cost to Poly of the breakfast, souvenir, invitations and coordination of this special event.
16) Who may I contact if I have other questions that were not answered on this page? Please call Laura Huffman at Poly (626) 792-2147, ext. 205.
