1) How do I register for
the Centennial Family Picnic?
There are three ways to register:
a. On-line at the Poly Centennial website, www.poly100.org
b. By mail: Print a registration form at www.poly100.org and send
it to Poly Centennial, 1030 E. California Blvd., Pasadena, CA 91106

2) Where and when is the
Picnic?
The Picnic will be held on Babcock Field on Thursday, August 30th
from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
3) Is there an admission
fee for the Family Picnic?
No, there is no admission or registration fee to attend the picnic.
However, there are fees for ordering a boxed meal and/or a Poly
Centennial blanket.
4) What is the price of
the boxed meal and what is included?
The boxed meals from Caltech Catering Services are $8.00 each and
include a sandwich, chips, fruit, pasta salad, and drink. Please
indicate your sandwich choice when you register: Roasted Turkey
Breast, Roast Beef or Grilled Vegetable.
5) Where will I pick up
the boxed meals?
The boxed meals will be distributed in the Boys Gym.
6) Can I bring my own picnic?
Yes, families can pack their favorite dishes and picnic supplies.
7) Is alcohol allowed?
No. Alcohol consumption is prohibited on campus during school hours
and/or when students are present.
8) Where can I pick up
the complimentary specialty dessert?
Desserts will be available on special carts along Babcock Field.
9) What is the cost of
the Poly Centennial blanket? Where can I pick up the blanket?
The cost of the blanket is $20. Blankets can be picked up in the
Boys Gym.
10) Where should I park?
The campus parking lots will be available and parking arrangements
have been made at Caltech (Athletic Campus) on California Boulevard
and Wilson Avenue. Street parking is only permitted on the campus
side of the streets. Please do not park in front of a neighbor’s
home.
11) Can I bring my own
blanket, chairs, umbrellas, canopies, games, etc.?
Please bring whatever items you wish to ensure your comfort. The
sun will be setting during the picnic, but be prepared for warm
weather.
12) Will there be any entertainment?
PolyMorphs, the Schiedemantle family and the Pep Squad will perform.
13) Can children play on
the campus playground?
Yes, children may play on the Lower School play area directly north
of the field.
14) Are pets allowed?
Sorry, no pets are allowed on campus.
15) Why did the location
change from the Huntington Library?
Due to the overwhelming success of the Centennial events and the
number of people interested in attending this particular event,
we moved the location to Babcock Field which can accommodate the
large response.
